Cardiology Doctor was just up near Metrotown, yay not having to go all the way downtown where my Specialists usually are. Again I got luck with another super nice doctor. As soon as I walked in he asked if I knew why I was there, I said yes, because they suspected Marfan's. He asked if I knew what it was, yes...I've been reading up on it. Then he brought out a diagram of the heart and went into more detail.
He asked to see my hands and feet and agreed they fit the profile, then he measured me. After that he took my blood pressure which he said was pretty low...and explains why I feel so damn dizzy when I stand up sometimes. He told me to get up slower, and get some more salt into me. I explained that because my Mum has high blood pressure, she has to be low sodium and that's made me very aware so I try and be careful. Apparently I don't need to be. I mentioned this to my Mum and she was like "What?! But you eat so much salt!"
Wat?
*eyeroll*
Anyway, then he listened to my heart (I'd already warned him it was faster than most) and said it didn't sound like a murmur or anything bad but that he needs an EKG to know for sure, so they are going to book me an appointment with Burnaby General Hospital sometime soon. He also mentioned that if the test comes back okay then he still believes I have Marfan's...just a mild form of it...which is good, it means it will progress a lot slower. Usually you start seeing symptoms at age 10 so by the time they are at my age, things are usually pretty shit.
I've had 2 EKGs in my life already but last one was like 8 years ago (When I learned I should never take Cold/Flu pills)
He also said either way, no contact sports for me ever. Not that my knees would ever allow it anyway so I guess it doesn't matter. I was so worried dance would be out o_o But for now, its fine.
