Fuck you, LJ. Just... fuck you.

So, I got a response to my support request.

Below is an answer to your support question regarding "My legit comments getting marked as spam"

Your comments were most likely identified as spam due to them containing a link to a non-whitelisted domain. Each community can modify the list of domains which will be whitelisted. The maintainer(s) can modify this list by following the instructions below.

* Visit [http://www.livejournal.com/community/manage.bml], while logged in as a maintainer.
* Click on the "Settings" link for the community for which you would like to modify the whitelist.
* Click the "Edit whitelist for this community" link, in the "Community Moderation" box.

So I have to personally approach the owners of EVERY comm and journal I have tried to post legit comments to and say "could you please whitelist AO3/Ravelry/whatever"?

I do not have the time or the patience for this douchery. And I really, seriously doubt most of the mods/journal owners know about this "whitelist" crap, or that they even need to vet every bloody website in the entire internet that someone wants to legitimately link to. I sure didn't, and I do not have the fucking time to set up a billionty site filters to my own journal, let alone harass a dozen other LJ users to do it too so that their journal or comm is remotely usable.

EDIT: The ONLY info I can find in my own journal settings is a ticky box that says: "Spam Protection: Comments containing a link to a non-whitelisted domain will be marked as spam and moved to special section." It's either ticked or not ticked, there is no link to a whitelist that allows you to add/remove websites from it, and the FAQ button beside it leads to a stub that proclaims: Frequently Asked Question #338
