Have achieved row 1 of the shawl of doom! Everything from now on must be easier. Knitting up 624 stitches from a loop cast on for someone who is a fast, tight knitter is a special kind of hell. A very very slow, beginner's pace hell. Not fiendishly difficult, but annoying.
