Today I choked on a burnt bagel

Maryland Deathfest was insane. Packed up the van and stuffed 300 records Thursday night. Got into Baltimore around 3 or 4pm. Arrived to the fest just in time to catch Mayhem, who were kind of underwhelming. It was cool to see Attila (who is awesome live). I was stoked on Hellhammer, but that dude is so into triggers now, his playing has been whittled down to the tappiest of tapping.

Best sets of the fest IMHO: Asphyx, Immolation, Bolt Thrower, Absu, Aura Noir, Trap Them, Devourment. Was very bummed Pestilence couldn't get into the country, but oh well.

We probably had one of the best possible set times. We played on Saturday around 3:30. The show started at noon, so most of the people who were gonna be there were in attendance, and we played shortly before the bigger bands started to play on the outdoor stage. We were fucking loud onstage and I was told shit sounded pretty cool in the room. People moshed and we sold a shit ton of records and shirts.

It's pretty rad have dudes from multiple established metal/grind bands tell you how stoked they are on your band.

Monday we "played" a Memorial Day fest in Baltimore as well. Unfortunately, we got to play 2 songs before cops and fire marshall shut everything down thanks to idiot crusties drinking outside the venue. These dirty fuckwits can't even pay to get into a show, but they can all pay for cases of National Bohemian. They also are barely able to take care of their filthy selves, yet they think they can take care of dogs. Fucking pieces of shit.

Last night I helped Katie move a few things into her new place. The apartment is 2 floors and has a sweet layout. I think she'll be pretty happy living there.

Now I'm home and getting ready to go to work (via a Livejournal update).

Tomorrow I'm gonna clean the shit out of the studio. Gonna throw away/move a ton of shit that's somehow made its way into our work area. Possibly buy a rug for the control room (dust control), possibly put some hangers on the live room for cables. We spent a lot of time cleaning shit out of that area so we can build. I'm not gonna let the cluttered, pack-rat hell that is the warehouse invade our oasis.

I'm also gonna start planning some treatment builds for the live room. That thing needs an overhaul. I'm tired of cutting 300-600hz out of fucking everything. Get it right at the source.
