I am part of what once USED to be a good fan campaign. Now it has become merely a fan CLUB. And not so much a club where the initial thing we loved is the focus anymore. There's lack of enthusiasm from the members and the mods refuse to even THINK about anyone's ideas but their own and the ones who have been part of the group from the start.
Campaigns need to adapt and change in order to grow and work. Maybe our goal is silly but it's one that, before, we all believed in. I have lost faith in MANY of the members and especially the mods. The few members who agree that the campaign has stopped being a campaign seem to want to do something about it but instead are just worried about what the others will say. Will the others get mad? Will they rant and rave?
Do I regret joining? No. I have "met" many new friends. But I am ashamed that these campaign members seem to believe in "wishful thinking". It helps but not as much as DOING MORE. Emails and tweets and "heated discussion amongst ourselves" is doing nothing. The mods are more concerned with "policing the comm" and keeping us on a tight leash. No new ideas are welcome. It's sacrilegious to even dare think that the comm charter needs to be changed. I mean, how DARE we TRY to BE a campaign!!!
I loved the campaign when it WAS a campaign. But now... Now I am ashamed that I ever heard f or joined it.
