I find it ironic how I made the suggestion that a fan fic contest be done on the comm (as a morale booster if nothing else) and get told:
Fan fic is not allowed on this comm.
(I could practically HEAR the words being spoken by my old high school principal's voice)
And then, suddenly, 2 days ago there's a new post about a fan fic contest ON THE COMM.
I know it might be petty to feel resentment but the fact is, I made a suggestion and get a short, curt "no way" answer but then suddenly a decision is made to go ahead and do it? So I guess you have to be a mod or longtime member to be allowed to make suggestions without getting any flak. Sad part is, nearly every member is nice (to me, to everyone) but a few (probably without realizing it) come across in a less pleasing light.
I should be glad that my idea is being used and I suppose I am. But I'm not going to participate in the contest. There's a little too much bitterness in my mouth to stomach that. I'll gladly read the entries but that's only because fan fic is an addiction.
I just hope that whatever funk I'm in ends soon. Lately everything to do with the comm/campaign makes me... unsettled. Maybe it's time for the comm to do a complete revamp...But I know I won't bother suggesting it.
