1.  A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.  Although I think the Kite Runner is, perhaps, a better/more universal book, this book seemed much more personal, much more about linking the individual women with Afghani women as a whole, as well as Afghanistan as a whole.  I've wanted to visit Afghanistan since I read "Lie Down With Lions" by ( Read more... )
