Getting rid of old baggage

My goal for the next few weeks is to try to finish up some of the quilts I have lying around, half finished.  (You'll see why in mid August.)  I started quilting one of them today, and enjoyed getting into the rhythm of it.  Plus, it's nice to be productive without having to be particularly creative.

I've had the a/c set at about 73 for much of the morning, and it's been chugging away, and I'm noticing the temperature is getting cooler, but, darned if I'm not dripping sweat.  Seriously, dripping sweat.  It was going down my neck when I was up in my studio, and now it's dripping off my knees.  What is up with that?

I finished a pair of small men's/large women's socks over the weekend from a skein of Online Socke yarn that I bought off of ebay.  I have a pair out of the same yarn/different colorway, and I've been happy with the results of both.  Though I think I prefer knitting it on size 2 needles, instead of size 3.  (Mine are size 3, and a bit loose.)

I keep starting and ripping out attempts at lacier socks.  I think that when the sock I'm working on now is finished, I'll start up another try at the lace, making sure to a) use someone else's pattern and b) do the knitting somewhere besides in front of the tv.

On a family note, I went to see Molly's performance in the summer camp talent show yesterday.  She and her friend, Eliana, danced to a Hannah Montana song, "Rock Star".  There was little to no choreography, just two five year olds up there bopping away.  Very very cute.

And now she's asking for songs by Hannah Montana.

It has begun.
