Summary: An AU story based on major events from seasons 1 and 2. Fifteen year old Neal is caught by the FBI in possession of forged paintings. Special Agent Peter Burke decides to give him a second chance at life. Will Neal take a leap of faith and finally trust someone to be there for him? Basically, a teen!Neal story where angst, hurt, and comfort abounds!
AN: This is for the WC Kid!fic Fest over at the whitecollarhc community. This story is the first fanfic I've ever written. I've been working on it for the last few months and even though it'll probably never measure up to some of the fics I've read, I like it and I'm happy with how it turned out.
Special thanks and Beta credit for parts 4, 5, and 6 goes to deej1957, who didn't even know me, and offered kindly to go over it. The rest of the story is unrevised. English is my second language, so any additional mistakes are my own. I should probably also mention that I've never been to New York, so please ignore any problems with the logistics of places (my only reference was Google Maps).
