Nobody can resist the taffy apple salad

My parents weren't home when I made taffy apple salad last night; the mother of a family friend died and they went to the wake. This did not preclude them from asking me to set some aside for them, though, and my mother insisted on having some marshmallows before she left. I've done this before; of course I know to set some aside. I may not be let back into the house otherwise. Anyway, I put two little containers in the fridge for them; when I got up this morning, I found the two little containers in the sink. Guess they couldn't wait. Of course, knowing my mother, if she ate hers last night then my father would have as well, because if he left his alone, she might eat his when he wasn't looking.

So I have this party to go to this afternoon; I haven't seen most of the people I imagine are attending in quite some time. I'm thrilled to be able to contribute something, though; this group has not yet tasted my taffy apple salad, but generally it goes over well. Who knows--maybe one of you will get to try it. I'm just glad it's going to be nice outside. November is such a crap shoot, but we may even hit the mid-60s today. Sweet. Just like the salad.
