Grandma came over today. She ended up taking my family out for lunch, and then she and mom went to the movies, as grandma had gotten free passes for a movie, popcorn, and drinks. She also picked up her stuff from Wisconsin that mom and dad brought down in the U-Haul. It really wasn't that much, and despite grandma already having stuff in the back of her truck, we were able to pack everything in.
For the record, grandma thought mom's doll looked like a harlot, too. Mom remedied this by fixing the doll's legs and arms, so now she just looks like a pouty little kid.
We ended up going to Friday's, which is down the street from my house. Grandma made a comment that she doesn't drink much...yet she got something called "Citrus Splash," I believe, that came in this huge martini glass. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that there really wasn't a change in her after downing that sucker? (I was getting sort of high off the drink's vapors, it was that strong when the server sat it on the table.) Oh, and there was this magician sort of person walking around bending forks. He did not make his way to our table--darn--but as this was a sort of birthday lunch for me, mom made the comment that I'd wanted to come here for the "birthday magician." Um, no.
Laura, the best part is that I remembered to get out my Friday's card, so the next time we go there we should be able to get an appetizer or desserts on me.
