All dressed up and...I didn't go anywhere

My grandfather called, on his cell phone, around 11:15. He asked if I'd like a visitor. Well, those things aren't up to me, so I told him I'd check with his daughter. My mom is really weird about having people over (hence why I never have parties, always go to Laura's and not the other way around, and reason #27 as to why I need to move out). She'll rarely turn down her parents, though, so she said sure and then promptly holed herself up in bed. About an hour later, we get a call from my grandfather...from his house. Que? Turns out there was some sort of problem with his garage door--or so he said--and therefore he *wasn't* coming out today. Oh. Okay. Mom was not upset at this turn of events, but, well, it would have been nice to see him. I was in the middle of getting dressed at the time and finished doing so. Okay, I'm dressed; I should go somewhere. But I didn't.

Meanwhile, dad was out running errands at the time and had no idea my grandfather had ever called. Mom spotted a Shabby Chic--yes, this again--bookcase on sale and had him pick it up for her. I had debated going out once our laundry was done, but by that time dad was assembling the bookcase and I helped him, and then it was dinnertime, and then I procrastinated and procrastinated and here I am. I never did leave the house.

Sometimes I do wonder if there's something wrong with me.
