For the birds (and the bunnies)

We now return you to your regularly scheduled entries. Thank you for your patience.

This morning I totally got yelled at by a goose. I was on my way to the bank on the mall access road and noticed a gaggle crossing the street. It just so happens that there was enough room for me to keep going without hitting them, so I did. Well, one goose took great offense at that and had his beak opened wide to yell at me--I could see his long pink tongue. Hey, buddy, there's no crosswalk and no Geese Xing sign, so you're out of luck.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I discovered this ad for a cockatiel sculpture. There's no way I would buy such a thing, but the bird in the picture is roughly life-sized. I have a cork board near Kirby's cage and stuck the picture on there last night. I can't tell if he's upset or amused--probably both, knowing him. He was never really into the other birds we had (another cockatiel and a parakeet), but he's fascinated with mirrors. I'll leave it up for a while and see what happens.

Lastly, it looks like a fourth bunny litter was born this year. This time: twins! I saw momma bunny with two little ones on Monday, and right after I saw them they started nursing. I've never seen that before. The little guys were on their backs on either side of momma bunny, and you could see their hind legs kicking every so often. Now that was interesting.
