Another trip to the big game

Over the weekend, NCC won its semifinal game. The team is heading to its fifth Stagg Bowl in a row.

I'm pretty sure they mean business. They won 66-0 over Susquehanna. Holy crap. Mind you, this is one of the four best teams in the country this year and they lost by that amount--the largest margin of victory in a D-III semifinal game, tied with one other game. That's...that's like them playing Robert Morris, AKA a school not known for its football. Even the Bears haven't lost a game that badly, and they're on a 9-game losing streak.

So here's the fun part-slash-quirk about how this year's calendar has fallen. There's no game this weekend since, I mean, it's Christmas week. That pushes the game to the following weekend--and it'll be on a Sunday. They've always been on a Friday, at least since NCC started playing in these games. That's so wild.

I do know that the school was being preemptive this year, given the turmoil that surrounded last year's trip, so they should be prepared to head out. The game is in Texas this year, scene of the first one we went to, and won. They play Mount Union, which is also a D-III stalwart, so it should be tough--but again, they came out swinging last weekend. They don't like losing in the championship game. It should be good...and I'm probably going to have to head to town on a Sunday night if I want to watch. It's tradition at this point.
