There's no consistency to the seasons anymore, which is disappointing when you're used to certain things happening and then poof, that stops. Take fall colors. There are still a number of trees that are green. They might be a pale green, but they haven't changed their colors just yet. I only started noticing some of the trees changing last week, and they're beautiful, but it's odd to have a handful of trees with no leaves next to trees that still think it's summer.
And there's a reason they're confused; it was basically 80 degrees outside on Tuesday. It's a week out from Halloween. If it's 70, we're lucky; ten degrees warmer is unusual. And then next Tuesday we'll be lucky to hit 40 and there's the possibility of snow. Now, okay, this is what I think of when I think back to Halloween when I was a kid, cold and rainy, but it's not what anyone wants. On the way home last night, I saw a truck with a plow attachment on the front. Mind you, it was in the 60s at the time. It's all so confusing. Can we just stay in bed under the covers?
