Let's see, what have I done...
Yesterday I did two loads of laundry and managed to give myself a migraine playing with Ben's Brain (between futzing with Geocities and then making that Flickr account, which now I'm not sure I really want). Usually I can sleep migraines off, but this one was still there when I woke up.
(Of course, it was worth it slightly, as Ben gave me a
shout out AND my very own tag. I'm so impressed. :) I needed that, actually.)
Today, I had bills to pay, and I managed to get out of the house while it wasn't raining. For my good deeds (and probing questions at the post office), I managed to get actual 39¢ stamps instead of the generic first class ones. They are Black Heritage and--very cool--children's book characters. I'm so impressed. (I hate having boring stamps.)
I also gave my bird a bath. Oh, how he hates baths, but he was looking pretty ratty. He gets bird snot all in the feathers on his head. Naturally, it doesn't want to come out, and he gets pretty unhappy, but he's looking better than he has in a long time. I always feel bad giving him a bath in winter because he gets so cold afterward, but I came up with an idea to keep him warm with a towel, and it worked. He even stayed underneath it for ten minutes. I think it also helped that it was my bamboo towel, which is very soft.
Other snippets:
There is a bunny tail on the side of our porch. No, there is not a bunny attached to it.
I finally saw buses on Randall this week. Of course, there were no passengers at the time.
Another East China Inn (our fave Chinese restaurant in town) opened up by the Jewel. It replaced a different Chinese restaurant, but for the life of me I can't think of the name--Da Hua! That's it! Okay, never mind.
My mom brought home a book on mental illnesses. I guess we're supposed to find out how many she actually has with it.
A local high school student came down with "the whooping." We live next door to high school students. It's possible that mom has it...but I don't think she was tested for it.
Oh, and I did reply to a couple of emails today. I'm working on them...(Kris, you're in the queue.)
I get to go back to work tomorrow. Yay. But R comes back in two days, and the kiosk goes away too...it should be a good week.
Oh! Two more things I wanted to mention: Happy (belated) 250th Birthday to Mozart. What kind of musician would I be if I missed that? (I know, the kind I already am.) And, it's the 20th anniversary of Challenger. My memory of that is of being a third grader crowded into Mr. Bellandir's class with all the other third graders to watch the launch on TV, and the stunned silence of everyone when the shuttle exploded. I think one of the teachers just turned the TV off after that. That's all I recall. But we were sad.
