For the past couple weeks, Fabyan Parkway has had construction in a couple places. The first is a little confusing, at 31 and the bridge. This is the intersection that will be reconstructed in the next few years, which is why whatever they're doing is strange. They've been doing some sort of electrical work, and it looks like they perhaps were installing a safety light, perhaps? Eastbound has what appears to be a light that's covered over with a "not in service" marking on it, but yesterday going westbound I could see a sign of sorts with two bulbs on it. They're not working yet but I wonder if it'll blink to warn people that the stoplight has changed? Maybe?
Then, east of Kirk, the two-lane portion of Fabyan was down to one lane. There's building construction in the area, just west of the curve. There's a little street called McChesney Road that shows up on Google Maps, but it's more like a glorified driveway; it's gravel and it ends at a metal gate. This construction is immediately west of the "road" and there's been signs warning of trucks entering and leaving the roadway. (Also, checking the map, there's an Amazon warehouse within the industrial complex there. That explains all the Amazon vans I see around there.) The roadwork involved adding paving to the shoulders of the road for about a mile heading west. The shoulders long have had signs saying they're soft, meaning you want to stay on the roadway, and perhaps there was a concern about the trucks causing damage, or getting damaged, if they strayed? So now there's an extra foot or two of asphalt on the side of the road. It was pretty minor, thankfully, but it was kind of weird to have to go down to a one-lane road there, given the speed limit is 50 MPH.
