His house is famous!
My dad is on his way to an annual holiday gathering his friends hold. In preparation, he scanned and printed a picture of one of his buddies with an old girlfriend from probably 40 years ago; the guy had been asking about it. Dad wanted an envelope to put it in to keep it nice, and in searching some drawers he came across an old magazine article. It's about 25 years old at this point, but I totally remember it--it's one where Michael Rooker was featured in People magazine back in the day. He's from my dad's old neighborhood, and dad was so proud when he hit it big. What I remembered about the picture with the article is that he's standing on my uncle's old lifeguard chair. However, when we looked at it just now, my dad got excited--that's my house! Right there! So, yeah, my father's childhood home made it into a magazine. I told him he should bring that tonight, especially considering those are the friends he's seeing; he declined. Well, at least we know what happened to the article. I remember having it on display in our old kitchen back then.
