I woke up to a mild frost this morning. It wasn't enough to kill the flowers, and it melted by the time I left for work so I didn't have to scrape my car, but it was there, and it shall return.
Today was cold and stayed cold to cool. I spent the day watching leaves blow past the windows at work, parallel to the ground, the way they tend to do when the weather changes. At least there aren't that many leaves, since so many of them are still on the trees and green--this has been such a bizarre fall--but it's almost cartoon-like. I half expect Charlie Brown and Linus to go walking by and these leaves to have little swirl lines behind them.
One thing I haven't experienced much this year: The smells of fall, and by that I mean fires, fireplaces, fire pits, burning leaves. Of course, when they're almost all still on the trees, I guess that makes them harder to burn. :P
