Usually, I prioritize contributions to humans. This is my favorite program, which supports survival and dignity and about which I can't really say enough good things.
But then this morning I read this -- a tough article to read about the rising numbers of abandoned or starving pets.
The icon is Nuut, who died recently. That picture is from her fat and sassy days, before she got sick. If we weren't as affluent as we are, we couldn't have kept her alive so long. We wouldn't have had the space to isolate her and she probably would have infected the rest of the kittehs. We are lucky. I hate to think what would happen to our mob if we weren't so lucky.
