Bored. Incredibly, terribly, unbearably bored. To the extent that I even pulled up that sudoku website and played one of those puzzles, which really only proves how bored I am because those things only ever frusterate me and get me in an even worse mood. And this was no exception.
I suppose this is what a snow day does to a person. It would be all fine and dandy--the no school part--if I wasn't snowed in. This, my friends, is the downside to living in the middle of nowhere. I'm far enough out in the country that there is a solid, inch thick sheet of ice over our neighborhood roads. And our road is twisting, curving, hilly and has random trees stuck in the middle of it that you have to manuever around, which means there is a zero chance of me going anywhere.
That's not the worst of it though--it hasn't stopped snowing. Our school just announced that it will be closed tomorrow as well. I'm actually not the person that really hates school. I don't mind it, and sometimes, I like it. But I'm okay with the whole snow day thing--I just hope the sun comes out and melts everything down by the afternoon so that I can get out of this house.
In other news, I found another story worth reading on fanfiction. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right by Queen Jane Approximately. I skipped over it a million times because it sounded Mary Sue to me, but it's actually a very interesting story. It is a Curtis sister fic, but there are no pairings and I wouldn't consider her a Mary Sue. It feels a little detached from The Outsiders sometimes, almost like it's just an original story rather than a fanfic, but it's well-written and interesting. It reminds me of To Kill A Mockingbird, not because of the plot but because of the style--memories and flashbacks tied together to weave a story.
