By George, I think she's done it again!

I'm pretty much in complete and utter shock right now. My eyes are wide, my jaw dropped open a bit, and beside me on the bed (complete with crinkle marks where I was gripping it too tightly) is a sheet of paper. At the top? The ACT Student Report.

33. Out of 36, I got a 33. Now, considering my last score was a 31, it really isn't THAT significant of an increase. However, for a high school Junior, it's pretty darn impressive. Especially considering I really thought I bombed it. I didn't prepare because I had just finished taking the PSATs four days earlier and I went into the test without any determination or intention of raising my score. I just figured "oh well, *shrug* I'll do my best and we'll see what happens." Apparantly I did better than I thought.

My english was all top scores: 35/36 overall, and 18/18 on usage/mechanics and 17/18 on rhetorical skills. Reading was good, too: 34/36 overall, and 17/18 on both Social Studies/Sciences and Arts/Literature. Science (and this is what really shocked me) was a 35/36. I have *never* done that well on the science section. So math was the only one pulling me down with a 29/35 (18/18 on PreAlgebra/Elementary Algebra, 13/18 on Algebra/Coordinate Geometry and 15/18 on Plane Geometry/Trig). Which means that I can raise that score up to a 34, 35 or 36 relatively easily (I hope). As long as my other scores don't go down, I can get the math up with no problem.

And these are the scores that I sent to my college choices. That's definitely good. I sent them to OSU and UCO mainly just out of convenience (they're the other main schools in Oklahoma), and then to OU and University of Missouri at Columbia because those are the top journalism schools around here.

According to the little pie chart on the back, I'm a "people and ideas" person, which sounds about right. It says I should do: "Applied arts (written and spoken), advertising, creative writing, public relations, radio/TV broadcasting" or be a "columnist, editor, librarian, reporter/journalist." And some other little things that deal with community service or such, but it's good that it listed those because that's what I'm looking at. It's been a surprisingly good day, made better with the arrival of those scores and the lingering possibility of a snow day tomorow.
