I think you have to acknowledge this stuff, rather than pretend it doesn't happen. The problem comes when people think that their work is done by acknowledging it, which I don't think you or me is (are? grammar is confusing) doing.

At this point, I ALMOST feel that I couldn't stop acknowledging/thinking about race/racism if I wanted to... But that's not true. I'm white, and if I really wanted to, I could allow myself to fall back into old habits/assumptions and/or stop moving forward.
I don't want to, though. I want to keep pushing the boundaries on this, questioning it, etc. Luckily (or unluckily) the sh!t is so deep that I'll never get to the end...
