Haven't updated in a while... but really, nothing has been going on.
Last week I was pretty busy with work and school and I started getting a cold thanks to the infamous Old Navy Ick. Saturday I picked up some hours of overtime (YAAAY!)... and got to train someone on the register for the first time!! I was excited... I've trained plenty of people on other things, but never someone starting completely new... so that was nice. After that I went out to my parents house. Hung out with my mom and sister for a while, and then the whole clan went out to dinner at Ernie and Dom's. It was pretty good, but I was stuffed halfway through the appetizers. My Dad picked a fight with me during dinner too. Well... I suppose I instigated it.... he was compulsively rearranging the salt & pepper shakers and the napkin holder... so when he finished, I moved the napkin holder to where it was when we sat down... and he told me the next asshole thing I did we were all leaving. I had to laugh... he's ridiculous. Anyways, got home from that around 9-ish and started doing some homework. Got bored, and Kassie came over. We watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding and hung out for a bit, then she went home and I passed out. Sunday I worked and then hung out with Amber and Kevin for a while.
Monday morning I was super sick but sucked it up and got out of bed at 6:45 am so that Justin and I could go for a bike ride. It was nice.... really, really nice. Mind you, I haven't ridden a bike in nearly 4 or 5 years, so getting my balance was my first challenge... which I quickly mastered... but the seat was too high which made it a little difficult. It was so much fun though! We rode for a good 2 hours by a canal next to the Lehigh River and after a few bridges (yes, I rode a bike over BRIDGES... that's plural), we ended up riding through downtown Bethlehem... which I'm only vaguely familiar with. We rode down New St. I believe... and near where Musikfest was, so I kinda sorta knew where I was... but not really. Then we went down past Moravian College and Amber's high school... then I started recognizing the area and we passed the ice cream place we went to last week and went down Easton Ave (?) towards Stefko Blvd... and then to my apartment! It was nice. I was definitely worn out by the time we got back, but I'm going to attribute at least a little bit of that to being sick and not being able to breathe, haha. I showered and stuff and worked 11-8. Besides coughing a lot, it was okay. After work Michele and Greg picked me up and I went to a party with them. It was nice, the party was kinda beat, but I got to talk to Michele a lot which was nice.
Yesterday I worked, and then Miss Samantha came over to hang out. I went to bed around 1-ish, but the last time I checked the clock before I fell asleep was at 3:30. Every time I dozed off I started coughing and would wake myself back up. Ick. It was only bad because I had to be up at 5:40 am because I wanted to get dressed and organize things... then I had to run to P-burg to get my book bag from work (Thank God for Michele being wonderful!), then fly up to ESU to make it to class by 8. I got there with 10 minutes to spare, so it worked... but it was close. So... in addition to feeling super sick again this morning, I was exhausted. I was to the point where I was shaking while I was driving. Ick. Then I got to school and in gym we ran 2 laps around the track for warm up, did some drills (which I had to lead my group for, of course haha), then we went to the outdoor track for a 12 minute run. Big Ick. We chose partners, and I offered to go first. My goal? Run the first two laps then whatever for the rest. I ran the first two laps, and then for the next 2 1/2 laps I did I ran 3/4 of the lap and walked the last curve. I was suprised at how well I did. For starters, I have 100 problems with my knee. Well... not that many, but enough. I could feel myself limping a little, but it didn't hurt, so it was all good. But anyways, I was able to run for a little over a mile, so that was pretty great. I was worn out, but it felt good. Maybe I'll start running on my own some too. The only thing with that is that I need someone with me, because I need to motivate myself and be competitive with said person because otherwise I'll give up as soon as I'm winded.
So.... I can only imagine how wonderfully rancid I smelled all day. I showered this morning before my classes, but I didn't wash my hair. Oh well. I don't know anyone in my classes, so I really don't care. Plus, it's only 2 days a week that I'll be doing that. At least on Fridays I can dress nice and they'll know I'm not a scum bag all the time, haha. My 3 real classes were decent today.... minus not being able to stay awake in History of Psychology. But seriously... this guy is TERRIBLE! You can't speak at a conversational tone in a lecture hall. You just can't do it. It doesn't work. I can't tell you how embarassing it is to realize that you're sitting RIGHT in the center of a lecture hall with your head back against the chair and my mouth gaping open. I completely passed out, haha. I just hope I wasn't snoring. No one said anything to me though, and there was some guy sitting a seat away. So.. yeah. But anyways... I was embarassed, haha. The rest of my classes went well. I actually *gasp* enjoyed statistics. I'm sure that will be shortlived though, haha. I answered a few questions correctly, so I was happy. Foundations of Special Ed was great. I had to do group work with a group of super immature girls, but it was kinda gratifying that when they all went to talk, they stumbled over my words.... but... they were my words and it's nice to know that you know what you're talking about.
Sooo... after work I got home and felt ambitious, so I made myself lunch! Multigrain spaghetti with organic pasta sauce and soy meat. I was impressed! I'm not so good at cooking and as my roommate just said, I'm finally starting to learn to be Italian... even though that's sad that I couldn't handle boiling pasta until 20 years of age. Oh well, anyways. I planned on cleaning after that but my lack of sleep got the best of me, and I took a 3 hour nap. Woke up and showered, ate a ton of rice cakes, did laundry, ran the dishwasher a few times, and cleaned a little. Not super productive, but good enough. I'm still not feeling well, so it was nice to take a nap and go at my own speed today.
I have a pretty crazy headache, so I'm thinking I'll go put my laundry away and get to bed early tonight. Tomorrow I have a hair appt. at 10:30 am with Craig, and then I work 1- close. I hate that shift! Oh well... gotta do it, so it's okay.
Until next time..
