I just had to set a friend straight on Facebook.
Anybody who knows me for any length of time, knows how die hard I am about respect. I don't fucking kid around with that shit. I demand and expect it from anyone of my friends, and I will do everything I have to to have both my friends and myself respected. No exceptions. It is as real and as important for me as it was to my forefathers. I don't give a shit what year it is. I treat people with respect and the flip side of that is I demand it in return.
I recently had a friend make a rather lewd comment toward a female friend of mine on my Facebook page. Now this dude is never serious, and I know he didn't mean much by it, but to say it publicly like that on MY page? No. No fucking way!
I have no problems with friends who know each-other throw shit back and forth; as long as everyone plays fair, it's cool and the gang. But when someone disrespects a friend of mine, someone he doesn't know at all and has never met, especially a girl, on MY page, without any provocation, that I can't stand for.
I am very fucking serious when it comes to respect and I don't give a flying fuck what anyone thinks about it; if you don't like it, go fuck yourself! I will not stand for any bullshit when it comes to this. It is the basis of dignity, and EVERYBODY has the right to it. Anyone who doesn't understand this is a real issue worth standing up for, is no friend of mine. My friends are my family and I WILL defend them with every once of energy in me. If this society wants to go down the drain and think every type of behavior is fine and acceptable, it can go ahead and do it on its own. But my friends will ALWAYS know I stand by them and I WILL defend them any time I feel they are being wronged.
If that makes me out of date and out of style, fine. I would rather be real than be hip.
