Today we finished the whale hunting lesson. They read maybe 10 news articles and weblinks related to the topic. They were quiet and very engaged in the activity, and the couple of written responses I read were decently thoughtful. I also incorporated our new web tool, Edmodo, which is like Facebook for education, by adding a 5 question timed quiz that they had to complete when they finished the readings. I am signed up for a course this summer on how to incorporate Edmodo into class more frequently and I'm actually pretty excited about it. I hope it doesn't suck!

- It's May 16th, and annuals and veggies are really taking off now that the weather is warming up. :-D
