Back to college... so nervous

May 15, 2014 20:36

Completed the hunting & culture lesson with A3 today and they weren't as disinterested as I thought they were going to be, so that was good and positive. I also signed up for a free online grad class to couple with my for-credit Spanish class. The online class will give me 3 more MSDE credits towards Masters Plus 30. My goal is to be done with my Masters Plus 30 by this time next year.

I went and bought my book for my Spanish class today, and located my room. The class starts on June 2nd and I am hella nervous about it, because it is the first actual sit down, classroom class that I have taken since May 2007. Jesus.... 14 years since I did my Masters degree? It sure as hell doesn't seem that long. Try 11 since I left Virginia Tech, and 15 this May since I graduated from high school. Where have the years gone?? It seems like they move faster and faster as time goes on.

Things I am appreciative of today:
  1. My first rose has bloomed on my Pope John Paul II hybrid tea bush. I've never had roses before. It is gorgeous, large, and smells delightful. My Tropicana bush has a few buds, too.
  2. The opportunity to learn something new, correct my lack of effort/interest as a 14 year old taking Spanish (for free), and increase my undergrad GPA (even though I have a masters) so maybe at some point in the future Towson will actually accept me into the Masters in Science Biology program.
  3. Having a house to myself at so young an age. My good friend is struggling to get a loan to get a house of her own, and it very much makes me grateful to have this house. Even if it's in a kind of sketchy neighborhood with somewhat trashy neighbors, at least it is mine, I very much hope her bank comes through for her and she gets the loan so she can close on her house next week. POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR TARA! :-)
