Yet another great week at
rs_games - there sure are lots of talented people in this fandom!
Paying the FerrymanRating: NC-17
Warnings: Sexual content, angst
Word Count: 8,772
Summary: Months after Moony kills Severus Snape, Remus and Sirius meet again on the wrong side of the war.
Why you should read this: This is a gorgeous what-if story - what if Snape actually had been killed by Remus in the Schrieking Shack when Sirius sent Snape there? The storytelling is wonderful, and I really love this fic. Example: He looks years and years older, lines carved into the planes of his face. Of course, he doesn’t look like Moony at all. And that’s what manages to cut through Sirius’ brain: This isn’t his Moony.
I did this, he says to himself over and over again. I did this.
The Coldest TimeRating: PG-13
Warnings: Very slight swearing and sex.
Word Count: 6,692
Summary: Instead of escaping, Peter Pettigrew is captured at the end of Harry’s third year, and Sirius is a free man again - a free man who has no idea what to do with his freedom, and who barely recognizes his old friend and lover.
Why you should read this: It's lovely, lovely, lovely! Go read!
Snow in AprilRating: PG-13
Warnings: Future character death
Word Count: ~3,000
Summary: April is the cruelest month, Remus has always known. Sirius can't adjust.
Why you should read this: This is dark and devastating, and tbh a genre I don't read very often. But this is so very well done, with the way the story slowly builds up a scenario by letting us know more and more about the tragedy these people live in. Be prepared for utter hopelessness, but it's worth it!
Also, check out the great art entries this week!
And the other fics are so worth a read as well. Actually, check it all out - oh haha, reccing is hard ;D
