I should be doing reading for class right now. I never read anymore, I only "do reading". The difference is intangible but somehow incredibly important.

I think one of the most interesting things we do as a species is line up in those zig-zaggy walkways in airports and banks. The best for me is entering one of those and, for once, having no one ahead of you. What do you do? I'm going to be leaving the country for a week soon (very soon, this Saturday. eek!) for a conference. Somehow a whole group of us tricked Yale into thinking it necessary to send us to a conference in Argentina. The downside? It's entirely in Spanish. Except for the parts that are in Portuguese. Only I could possibly get lost on an island of 0.2 by 0.3 miles whose streets follow a grid. Ok, maybe not only I, but certainly only I could do it multiple times. I am committed to not carrying a map around this here my home island for the next three months.
