Gabi was so excited to surprise Troy with breakfast in bed for his birthday. She had started planning it weeks ago. Mrs. Bolton had left a key under the doormat so she could let her self in. She had made Troy’s favorite cinnamon rolls ahead of time and brought fresh squeezed orange juice. She even brought extra since she knew Chad was staying over. If she didn’t bring enough, Chad would probably end up eating her boyfriend’s birthday breakfast. She placed everything on a tray and slowly made her way up the stairs. She was careful not to spill anything.
She quietly opened Troy’s door and stepped inside. She tripped over one of his shoes and almost spilled the orange juice, but recovered quickly. She remained still for a few moments, not wanting to wake Troy before the tray was in place beside his bed. She smiled to herself as she watched her boyfriend sleep. She stepped up to the bedside table and placed the tray on it. She opened her mouth to wake Troy, but she stopped and abruptly turned and ran out of the room leaving the tray behind. She was shocked by what she had just seen.
