Ryan lifted a lock and smelled it.
“Orange juice.”
“You mean, like, from a carton?”
“No. From oranges. I had Gloria squeeze them this morning. Why?”
Ryan let his mouth fall open. “You put orange juice … in your hair?”
“Yeah. Cosmo Girl had an article about citric acid being good for follicles. I thought I’d try it.” She twisted her hair around her finger fondly, biting her lip.
“How? That makes no sense!”
Sharpay shrugged. “I don’t make the rules, Ryan. I just follow them.”
As he turned away, he scoffed. “Right.”
