Falling Into Water

Jan 29, 2008 18:50

I started this entry this morning, but right as I was writing some s#*$ hit the fan. I'll get to that in a minute, it might even help explain?

Well I always have weird dreams, just don't always remember them. This one was not unusually weird, except I had one of those "I almost died" moments in a dream where you have that feeling but you don't actually see yourself die. I've heard that if you do see yourself die, that's a bad omen. Anyway, I was in an SUV with someone who was a friend (he was driving). We were about to drive over a concrete bridge into a big city. It was one of those bridges that go over a river and are made of concrete, but there is a big grate over the middle where you can see the water. I don't think they make those for cars, but I know they have them for pedestrians in Chicago. Right as we drove over the bridge we saw that the grate was missing and drove into the opening. I could feel the car falling, actually through another sub-bridge with the same grate missing, and I knew we were heading into the water. My window was open, and I think I tried to grab onto something to hang from, but we were falling to fast. I remember thinking in my dream, "Am I going to die now? I don't want to die, I'm not going to die, I'm not going to die," and kept repeating that until we hit the water. I didn't actually see or feel hitting the water, my brain cut to the next scene as if nothing had happened. There were other parts of the dream I remember, but to me that's the only one that's relevant.
