Back and Forth

Last Monday my mother and I headed east to visit cousins in Fulham. We spent the night there, and my sister came there from Heathrow early on Tuesday morning after her flight from Australia. We spent a while over breakfast catching up on family news. Then, a bit before noon we headed south to visit more cousins near Wimbledon. We spent the night with an old friend of my sister's just north of Wimbledon.

On Wednesday we headed back west. I went to the local radio club gathering on Wednesday evening. I caught the Morse practice broadcast on Thursday morning, and did a bit better than last week. My nephew dropped by on Thursday afternoon before catching a train to London. From there he headed up to Lewis where he'll be spending the summer.

On Friday my sister and mother went off exploring the local area. They ended up spending most of the time at Slimbridge. Meanwhile, I took one load of junk to the tip, and then spent some time tinkering with my HF antenna. It now tunes on all the regular HF bands except top band. Even 60 metres now seems to work. I collected A off her flight from Köln early in the evening.

On Saturday we went over to Marlborough to meet up with my brother and his family for lunch, and visited a garden centre on the way home.

Yesterday my sister and mother headed off to spend a few days with friends in Yorkshire. We had a quiet day at home. A spent most of it in the garden, and I spent most of it on the radio.

Today we've done two tip runs (one mostly as a result of the stripping out of our en-suite bathroom, and the other mostly from stripping out much of the front lawn) and a bit of shopping over in Stroud.
