I have finally wrenched open a window in my new office. The temperature in here is climbing by the second. This is the best thing that has happened all week: it's been about 60°F in here with gale-force A/C. Outside it's been in the 80s and 90s. I've been wearing my full-on Icelandic sweater.

I'm writing a lecture about Thor. I've just gotten him to the river Vimur and across, and now I have to deal with Geirröð's daughters. This leads me to wonder:

Is it still living the dream when you're doing it at 1 AM over a bowl of cold cereal?

Oh, I know, I know. It probably is. I'm just really tired.

I have to get something in my car's CD player other than Richard Thompson's Hand of Kindness and Seigman's Total.

(Not they aren't both great albums, but I am not in the mood to hear "How I wanted to," and I do not forsee when I might next be in a mood in which I would, and though Total is great, it really only works for night driving.)
