Ordinarily, James disliked showing trainees around St Mungo's, but this was Scorpius Malfoy, and he was bloody gorgeous. James was glad his Healer robes provided adequate coverage.
Malfoy seemed excited and eager to learn. James had a thing or two he'd like to teach him. But first, there was the matter of initiation. It was tradition.
"Here's the morgue," he said. "This is where the dead bodies are kept until the family claims them."
"Dead bodies?" Malfoy asked in a whisper.
James made a pretense of looking around before he leaned in and lowered his own voice. "Don't believe all of the ghost stories you'll hear about this place," he said. "Only some of them are true."
Malfoy's Adam's apple bobbed as he gulped. "Gh-ghosts?"
James stealthily activated one of Uncle George's best pranks. It made a low, moaning noise, which morphed into a horrifying shriek. James grinned and waited for Malfoy to flee the morgue. Instead, Malfoy yelped and jumped into James' arms, clinging to him as tremors wracked his slim frame.
James wrapped his arms around Malfoy, cursing his body's reaction. "Calm down," he soothed. "I'll protect you from any ghosts."
But, who will protect you from me?
