Hermione sauntered through the Manor's ballroom, flitting like the butterfly of her costume from one small conversation to another, never stopping long to grab up snippets of thought. She ate hors d'oeuvres and drank the wine, inhaling the heady scents of cinnamon and cloves permeating the air --pumpkin spice. All the colours of autumn surrounded her, reflected in her own garment.
She twirled on the arms of one Wizengamot member or another over the course of the evening, all the while glancing back at one particular pair of smoldering, grey eyes. She shivered in the heat from across the room.

Long after midnight, when the floating candles' flickering had diminished to a low glow, she found her way to a secluded balcony. Without a word, she was crushed against a firm, demanding body, mouth devoured and breath caught. She clung to him as passion took her.
His rich cologne invaded her senses, making her feel heady and her pulse race. She whimpered as his nose caressed down her neck and moaned when his hot tongue lapped at her clavicle. She was lost as his fingers found her secret place, feeling as wild and unhindered as the howling winds around them.
