Round II - Info & Rules
The second round of hp_emofest is about to start, so here are the new and improved rules. Make sure to read them carefully as we've changed quite a lot :)

What does "emo" mean?
For your fic or art to be considered "emo", someone has to cry, leave, slam the door, cheat, be angsty or wear unfortunate clothing that causes any of the above to happen. We want sad fics, even dark fics, that will make the reader weep and suffer with our beloved characters. So basically: Take your fluff somewhere else :)
What kind of fest is this?
This is where we changed a lot for our second round. hp_emofest will not only be an anonymous exchange fest but you will be able to choose what exactly you want to do. So when you sign up, you will have the choice between...
a) Anonymous Exchange
If you choose this, we will find an assignment for you and you will be creating a gift for someone else. You'll have to consider their kinks and squicks and write/draw something your recipient will like. We will try to find the perfect assignment for everyone, so make sure to give us as much information as possible when you sign up. If you pick this, you cannot change your mind later.
b) Prompt
If you choose this, a prompt (words, a quote, a song, a video, ...) will be given to you by the mods. Your fic/art will not be a gift for someone else and you won't receive a gift in return. Your fic/art will be posted anonymously, and if the prompts don't appeal for you, you can feel free to disregard them entirely or ask for new ones.
c) Your Own Idea
If you choose this, you'll come up with your own idea. You can still change your mind later and ask us for prompts. Again, you will not create a gift for someone else and you won't receive one in return. Your fic/art will be posted anonymously.
This is a slash/femmeslash fest, so there will be no het and gen.
Info for Authors:
- There is no upper word limit but your fic has to be over 1,000 words.
- All fics must be beta-read. If you don't have or can't find a beta, either try hp_betas or check out our beta post which we will make at some later point. Make sure to thank your beta in your Author's Notes.
- Fics should be submitted in a .doc, docx or .txt file and sent to hp_emofestmod@yahoo.com. Please title your document USERNAME writing for USERNAME.
- We will make the header codes available later.
Info for Artists:
- Your artwork should be more than a simple sketch, and you should put an equivalent amount of time into them as the writers put into their stories.
- It can be a drawing or a comic, traditional or digital, and feel free to add a drabble. Just be creative!
- All art should be in a .jpeg or .png file and sent to hp_emofestmod@yahoo.com, not uploaded to Photobucket, ImageShack or TinyPic. Please title the file USERNAME drawing for USERNAME.
- We will make the header codes available later.
Other Important Info
- Our e-mail address is hp_emofestmod@yahoo.com and this is where you send your submissions to. We both are online almost every day, so if you have any questions/problems or just want to let us know how the writing/drawing is going, you can send us an e-mail and expect a relatively fast reply from us.
- Make sure to give us an e-mail address you check regularly. We have to be able to reach you in case there is a problem, so if you get an e-mail from us and we don't hear back from you after a few days, we will have to assume you are no longer interested in participating. Before assuming you've dropped out, we will try to contact you via LJ comment/PM but if you're still not replying, we will assume you're AWOL and will find a pinch-hitter.
- Don't sign up if you know you won't have the time to complete your fic/art in time!
- People who dropped out of the last round are not allowed to sign up for this round! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
- If you've signed up and something happens that prevents you from finishing your fic/art in time, let us know immediately and we will try to work something out.
- If you're struggling with your assignment, let us know in time and not five minutes before submissions are due. That way, we might be able to find a solution before it's too late.
- You have a very long writing period, so we would appreciate it if you didn't ask for an extension. If you think you might need one, please let us know as soon as possible, not the day before the deadline!
