Summary: Reid finally visits his mother with Hermione.
Notes: I'm not sure if Reid's mother would actually act this way with her schizophrenia, so forgive this if this is completely out proportion. I've had this idea since I saw the prompt, and I think it turned out pretty good.

“A nurse is on stand by, just press the button here if you want to leave or something happens,” stated the woman before leaving the room. Hermione Granger turned back her attention to her fiancé.
Spencer Reid look scared as he stared at his mother sitting in the bed. Hermione tightened her grip on his arm to show him some courage and comfort. This was the first time in a few years that he had first entered her here.
“Mom…” Spencer stated, moving slowly forward.
The older looking woman in the bed looked over to him and smiled. “My darling little boy!” Hermione smiled at that as Spencer blushed as he reached the bed. “Sit down!” Her attention turned towards Hermione who smiled politely at her. “You too dear, my what do I owe the pleasure in seeing my son with a beautiful young woman?”
Now it was Hermione’s turn to blush scarlet.
“Mom, this is Hermione Granger. I really wanted you to meet her…” Spencer stated, as his mother held his hand, before blurting out; “I’ve asked her to marry me.”
His mother’s smile widened, “Oh! What a lovely name! My son’s engaged! Oh happy days!”
Spencer blushed again as his mother laughed. “Mom, how have you been? Have you gotten my letters?”
“I’m fine, darling. And yes, I do get them; I love reading your letters. Only thing that keeps me sane,” Spencer frowned at his mother’s attempt at a joke. As she looked over towards Hermione with a bright smile, she said, “But that’s not what I want to talk about. I want to learn all about Hermione, and when do you kids plan to get married and start making me some grandkids?”
This time both Spencer and Hermione blushed a very deep shade of scarlet at the question. After a moment’s shock of what his mother asked, Hermione politely answered. “Well ma’am, we’re not quite sure when we’ll have any children, but we do plan to marry this coming May.”
“May was always a beautiful month, I’m very proud of you dear,” Mrs. Reid stated, patting her son’s leg. “Now tell me more about how you two met. You only told me you met a nice girl and that you really liked her, Spencer! I can’t believe you didn’t tell me anything else.” She complained, “I would have liked to know if my son was thinking of marrying someone.”
Spencer glanced at Hermione with a small smile, she returned it. She leaned over and held out her hand. Mrs. Reid glanced at it before realizing Hermione was showing her engagement ring. She sniffed, as she held Hermione’s hand in hers. “Oh dear, it’s beautiful on your hand. Much prettier on yours then it was on mine.”
Hermione smiled proudly toward Mrs. Reid, “Thank you so much.”
“Now, are you going to tell me how you two met or what?” Spencer’s mother asked, trying to sound hurt.
Spencer let out a laugh, “Alright, alright. We met a couple years ago…”
