He didn’t know how he stood it, sometimes. When he was at his loneliest, he would let his mind wander back to when he was a kid; back to when he was bitten, and he would imagine scenarios of his life, if only he hadn’t been bitten.
And, if he thought hard enough, he could imagine a life in which his friend James was alive, but Lily wasn’t by James’s side…she was by Remus’s.
