Remus awoke to a warm lump in his palm, a sleepy white and yellow chick. The fluffy thing hunkered into the curl of his fingers. Remus looked at Sirius, beautiful, bright, as sensual as morning.
‘How did you do that? Last night, I swear it was an Easter egg.’
Sirius let his hand linger near Remus. ‘It was.’
‘Magic then?’
‘No.’ Sirius shook his head, smiling softly. ‘Magic only disguises and destroys. It cannot create what doesn’t exist. Love is creation.’
A hairbrush hit Sirius’ shin. James rolled his eyes and pulled the sheets over his head. ‘Still sleeping here!’
