Sir Nicholas de Mimsy Porpington's shadow stared at the body. It was quite the mess. "B-but--"
YES, I KNOW. A bony hand was awkwardly placed on Nick's incorporeal shoulder. WE MUST GO.
"But--but I can't." Nick looked at the robed figure with sad eyes. "I--there's still too much left." His voice was a whisper; like his body, it was slowly fading away.
The robe nodded. Everyone said that.
Nick turned as several men moved his body over for the next execution. "No. I'm staying." Resolute, his spirit re-formed itself as he floated away.
I HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT.
