Still neglecting the journal. I'm forcing myself to work 10 hour days, though, as I need proper money. Not just 'enough to pay the rent', I want to not have to worry about it, like I did when I was working at Lionhead. I didn't pay much attention to my income at the time, but with the overtime, I was generally earning between £300-350 a week. Man...
So, the week's been pretty uneventful. One of the guys who wasn't working the week I started has come back, though, and he's pretty cool. I took my DS out one lunchtime, to catch up on Guffston's happenings, and when he saw it we started talking about games. He mostly likes RPGs, but he also has an appreciation for Nintendo, and was a big fan of ICO. So, that was pretty cool. Also at work, I think one of the other guys I work with is the same guy whose house I went to look at when I was trying to find a place to live in Guildford last year. Initially it was just a feeling that I'd seen him before, but I think it could be him.
I completed Shadow of the Colossus. Non-spoiler-y review: Soon.
I went into town today, and ended up eating at Subway, as is usual. Upon completion of my 6" Cheese Steak, the girl at the till told me it was free (Except she has a strange accent, so she pronounced it 'fray'). I gave her a look that was equal parts bewilderment, disbelief and hunger, and she repeated herself. "Uh, okay.. thanks! Er, could I make that a meal too, then?". Actually, in retrospect, it kind of sounds like I was asking for a free drink and cookie. She charged me £1.40, though, so maybe she didn't think I was. Anyway, I paid, and went to get my drink, puzzling over why she would give me a free sub. My initial thought was that there was some kind of special promotion on, but giving away free food doesn't exactly make for sound business sense. So, the only conclusion I could draw was that she did it because she likes me. I used to eat at Subway quite a lot when I wasn't working (Which is in part the cause of my poor financal situation, I'd say), so I've seen her before quite a few times. I'm still not sure what to make of it. Maybe she's reead my journal, knows about my recent money woes, and thought she's help out. In which case... she's.. reading this.. now! Arrghhj!
Unlikely, actually. I should have just asked her.
