I put together a log cabin square while Anne was napping. I think I like the color arrangement, I'm using only left overs from the last few quilts I've done. Traditionally, the middle square in a log cabin is red for the hearth, and I've used a mauve fabric. The "hearth" is off center, but I need the darker half to be dominant for it to line up ( Read more... )

It took a year in the making, but it's done. Here are a few progress and finished shots, more to come when I get better light. For those friends who view the quilting and crafting communities that I do, you'll see these shots again, as well as in my blog. Prepare for overload.

I need to finish the border, nearly half way there. It goes by quickly, but sitting long enough to do it now is getting difficult. My mother in law will help me finish the edge when she arrives to see the baby.
