Wrath of the Lich King will implement "Achievements", which are similar to the Badges that player characters receive in City of Heroes.
By achieving a certain goal, be it total gold earned, or have 25 vanity pets, or consuming 30 unique foodstuffs for example, the character will gain an "Achievement". All in all, there appear to be close to 500 such "Achievements" to be gained.
Many of them have already been earned by characters that have reached 70th level. These will be retroactively added to the character when Lich King debuts.
