Wrath of the Lich King will implement "Achievements", which are similar to the Badges that player characters receive in City of Heroes.

By achieving a certain goal, be it total gold earned, or have 25 vanity pets, or consuming 30 unique foodstuffs for example, the character will gain an "Achievement". All in all, there appear to be close to 500
