His credit card declined. I almost choked on my salad when the Afternoon Supervisor told me.

The housekeepin' staff here at my hotel turns in lost items from the rooms every night. Tonight, I found a big ass bag of lost items, clothes, books, cd-roms, a belt, a toiletry kit, and shoes, all waitin' for me to log in to our system. So, to set this up, the a hotel I worked for years back here in Austin has a reputation for bein’ haunted. There are stories in books (if ya can find Ghost Stories of Texas, printed out of Canada, there’s a story in that one that got a manager fired for tellin’ it), and I heard quite a few of ‘em in the three years I did overnight security there ( Read more... )

So, the set this up, there are a total of nine elevators in my hotel's lobby. Two go from the lowest level of our parkin' garage, to the lobby, and then to the fourth & sixth (banquet) floors.
