I'm watching The McLaughlin Group again (I know, why?). They recently had a brief discussion on the stats that being unemployed makes women 30-some percent and men 70-some percent more likely to die. They couldn't believe it. How could unemployment possibly be a terminal disease? Maybe it's depression? I dunno, on to the next topic ( Read more... )

Last Friday I found out that my Dad's cousin Maxine had died, suddenly, in her home.

After many days of checking, I finally found an obituary online. I think it actually touches on her quirky wonderfulness, which is pretty rare in an obituary. I gather the funeral is tomorrow, outside of Chicago. I would have liked to have gone, but it was my Dad' ( Read more... )

It's Hell Week at work (the week of Thanksgiving is brutal in the grocery business). I'm fairly brain dead and expect that that will be the case until Thursday, but I wanted to at least get off my butt and post my pictures from Saturday day:
