I know I have been the most ridiculous slacker when it comes to posting in this journal- but A LOT has happened since my last post!
At the beginning of April, Ryan and I moved into our very own side of a duplex. We're renting on a month to month basis, just in case I find a teaching job in St. Augustine. (Fingers Crossed!) So we signed the papers on April 1st for our two bedroom-two bathroom place. It's cute, it has all the basics with a washer and dryer so we really lucked out! :) Ryan and I spent a few weeks getting furniture and moving stuff over here.
While in the process of moving, we were finishing up wedding stuff, I was doing insane amounts of school work to get ready for my extended absence, and Ryan was in the crunch time of TAX SEASON! We managed to get it all done with limited breakdowns. :)
Family started coming in to town on Wednesday, April 23rd so we did some light entertaining then.
On Thursday, April 24th, more family and friends arrived in town. Sarah and Mickie came down and we went shopping and went to dinner with Patrick's girlfriend, Jessica.
On Friday April 25th, the rest of the girls made their way to Davie and we all had manicures and pedicures. We had our rehearsal dinner at Rickey's. (Delicious and fun!) The moms and the girls sang some songs that Ryan's mom put together. They were adorable :) After that, we went to the rehearsal at Pembroke Lakes. We made sure all of the stuff we needed for the next day was there, and then headed home. I actually slept pretty well the night before the wedding, which was a little surprising to me.
On Saturday, April 26th, we all got up and got our hair done. We all got back to the house and I got dressed in my fancy dress. The photographer came and took some pictures. We were waiting for the limo to arrive to take us to Pembroke Lakes- I called them (the limo company) and they said they had no reservation (or car at all) for us! WTF?!?! So, luckily my parents' neighbors (who've watched me grow up) have a huge red van... So that was my limo to my wedding!!!! All was well, the ceremony started on time, was beautiful, and I held it together and didn't cry until the very end. :)
We had tons of fun taking pictures and then had a blast at the reception.
Here's a link to the pictures-
http://apphotovideo.dotphoto.com/CPViewAlbum.asp?AID=5227115 Our Rolls Royce was an hour late picking Ryan and I up. (Different company too!) The first one got stuck in bad traffic, so they had to send another one to pick us up. It finally arrived and took us both to the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami. The concierge upgraded us to a suite since it was open and it was our wedding night. :) (woohoo!) We got amazing room service and had a blast.
The next day (Sunday) we checked out and got a taxi to the port and boarded our Carnival Cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten! We had a blast playing all the trivia games they had on the boat. We managed to win 4 plastic trophies and 2 medals for our trivia games. In San Juan, we just walked around and had dinner at a restaurant. We had tons of fun in St. Thomas, which was my favorite place of all the three. We went on a submersible (submarine) and toured under the sea there. Then, we went the opposite way and took a skyride tour to the top of a mountain and got a beautiful view of the area and the water below. The water was the most beautiful color blue I've ever seen in my life. In St. Maarten we just walked around, saw a lot of history, tried to bargain with the cheap people in the shops, then got back on the boat. Next cruise we go on, I'm going to be sure to research the places quite a bit before I go.
It was insane trying to get back into the swing of things when we got back from the cruise. At school we had Kindergarten Fun Day, Field Day, Portfolio Night, Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony, and end of the year packing. Ryan seemed to do a pretty good job of getting caught up at work.
Now, it's summer time and I'm definitely glad for a break. I do miss some of my little ones, but I know they're all doing well and having tons of fun this summer. For a change, I'm glad I'm not the one who is doing all the wedding planning, so it's fun helping Mickie to plan hers out a little bit. :) There are currently no teaching jobs in St. Augustine (not even for a substitute!) so I'm still waiting to see if something opens up. Bill really wants Ryan to be able to come back up there, so he's been checking with the superintendents of three counties! Still no luck there!
So for now, I'm just trying to be productive and not spend money. :) I'm helping my friend Sarah with her VBS program for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week. Thursday, Ryan and I are flying to Baltimore to drive to Hanover for Adam and Nikky's wedding. We're going to an Oriole game on Thursday night! Yay! It's Nick Markakis Bobble Head night! (My favorite Oriole!) Beyond that and other than the wedding, I don't know what else we're doing while we're up there. We come home on Sunday.
The weekend of the 4th of July, Ryan and I are going to Naples. We're going to head there on Friday and see fireworks at night, and stay until Sunday.
The only other news I have right now is that I just found out that Patrick finally passed his Math Test and so he officially gets his High School Diploma!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAHOOOO!!!!
So, not that much else will be going on this summer, but I'll try and not let it go so long between updates!
Much love from Hollywood (FL) ;)
