So my life has been extremely busy these past couple of months- many changes, things happening, and I've been trying to deal with it all the best I can!
In January my grandfather had surgery to have his leg removed. The doctors said that this was the ONLY way to save his life. If he had chosen not to have his leg removed, he most likely would not be alive today. BUT! He found the courage and strength to go ahead with the procedure and it seems to have been successful. They had to remove his leg all the way up to his hip, and most of his butt cheek. We weren't sure if he was going to be able to make it down for the wedding, but he said he wouldn't miss it! I'm so very glad just to have him on this earth with us right now, I'd be okay even if he weren't able to make it down for the wedding.
On February 12th, I turned 25 years old. I had a wonderful birthday with my family.Ryan gifted me with XM radio for my car for my birthday! I absolutely love it and I find myself not listening to the radio at all really anymore. No commercials makes for great driving and music listening! On February 13th (which we have just deemed "Celebration Day") Ryan gifted me with tickets to two Orioles Spring Training games! He also gifted me with an Orioles shirt that has my favorite players name and number on the back. (Markakis #21) It was hilarious because he ordered this orange shirt with the Orioles logo on the front and then the name and number on the back. He got it in the mail- Okay... orange shirt, saw the name and number on the back... turned it around... it says METS!!! Now, if you know anything about baseball, you know that Mets also have orange shirts with blue and white writing... whoever made my shirt must have just grabbed an orange shirt and they were mixed up! So... needless to say, he called them up and now I own a Markakis Orioles shirt AND a Markakis Mets shirt! HEHEHE
I've been very busy at school- now is the time when we're giving lots of tests, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students just took the FCAT. I helped out with a Bullying and Gang Awareness seminar. I've been having conferences, IEP meetings- TONS OF STUFF. I submitted all of my application stuff online for St. Johns county in the hope that I'll find a job up there. Ryan would LOVE to go back up there and the only thing keeping me here in South Florida is my family. In just over a month though, Ryan will be my family also and we have to do what is best for us. I emailed several schools in St. Johns (the principals) to see if there were any openings, but no luck as of yet. We'll continue to keep looking!
On March 13th, Ryan, myself, Jessica, her boyfriend Jason, and another couple went and saw the comedian Frank Caliendo at the Hard Rock. It was an absolutely hilarious show! Ryan's mom and sister had come into town that day, so we all met up and had dinner at this awesome restaurant at the Hard Rock and then walked around the casino a bit, before going to the show.
On March 15th I attended my beautiful bridal shower! It was amazingly decorated, had delicious food, fantastic friends!, and great presents! Mickie had some fun games for us to play and we just had a fantastic time! I couldn't have asked for a better shower! :)
That brings us just about up to date. Happy Easter by the way!
This past Friday Ryan and I went and visited two apartments that we were interested in renting. It has been ridiculously difficult to find a place to live because we're only going to be renting for a few months at first- until we find out where we're going to be and what we're going to be doing! Well, we found two locations, one is close to where we are at right now at Chris' and the other is farther away. We really liked the first one we went to, but they said they didn't want to rent to pet owners. We saw the second one, but we weren't THAT impressed with it. (though they said cats were not a problem.)
Well, yesterday we got home from the Orioles game (that had been rained out *sniffle*) and he called up the owners of the first place (non cat place) and told them that we really loved the place, but I couldn't part with my cats. They said that they really liked us and were willing to work something out! So... this week we're going to sign the lease!!!! Ryan told them that we could put something in the lease that said that if something was damaged from the cats (yea right) we'd repair it.
So... now we're just working on that and finishing up stuff for the wedding. This week at school I have class for full days on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We have an early release day on Thursday (12pm) and a teacher work day on Friday. THEN- we go to Spring Break! I've got to meet with the florist, drop off balances to Photographer and DJ. Ryan and I are going to apply for our marriage license. I'm switching my car to my name and we're getting new insurance on Ryan's policy for my car. We have some favors to finish up. I've got to finalize information for nails/hair/makeup. Oh yeah, in that time, there's also moving stuff to this new place. (Not to mention the fact that we have silverware but no dishes. We don't have any cups yet. I don't have my own bed or dresser. We don't have a couch. ACK!) All I can say about the furniture is: Thank You Rooms to Go no payments til 2010!) We'll see how much they'll let us spend. ($500! probably!)
Well friends, I think this has been a pretty thorough update! Hope everyone is doing well! LOVE TO ALL! See some of you VERY SOON! *HUGS!*
