we had a few people over for the super bowl yesterday. i made guac, a vegan queso, and bacon wrapped, baked jalapeño poppers. k. and agnes made a crapton of finger foods. delicious, but dairy heavy. my body truly hates me today.

back in january eloise took the nyc doe "gifted & talented"* test for kindergarden admissions. i registered her for the test in order to open up her kindergarden options. while our zoned school produces good test results, its approach to education is archaic and that is not an environment that i find conducive to learning. last week i received a ( Read more... )

DOE won't accept eloise's immunizations because at pre-k age she must have 3 doses of hep b. she only has one dose because, frankly, i was in no rush. i was not all that worried about her getting a disease that is largely transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen, and vaginal fluids.
